Our process
Daneswood Concepts will work with you through the four stages of a project: Consultation, Concepts, Architectural Drawings and Project Coordination.
Consultation
We’ll visit you when it suits you and take the time to listen to you. We’ll be interested to know how you live day by day. We'll make sure we understand your lifestyle and habits, needs and wants, wishes and dreams. Are privacy and light important to you? Do you entertain frequently? Indoors or outdoors? Is music important? Do you get many visitors? Are your in-laws about to move in? Many questions will be asked, some surprising, often thought provoking, always relevant.
Concepts
Next we’ll produce a series of conceptual drawings. Ideas, suggestions, plans, elevations. We think outside the box and challenge the status quo. We’ll present them to you, get your input and re-work them to incorporate the changes you wish. We’ll work on the concept until you are completely happy.
Architectural Drawings
Then, and only then, we'll involve an architect. He/she will produce technical drawings on the basis of Daneswood Concepts that can be used to obtain planning permission. We work with architects who are familiar with the work we do. We trust them for their proven integrity, reliability and ability to keep costs down. With Daneswood Concepts having completed the initial ground work, the architect's task is simplified and time spent on the overall project is reduced. This allows for significant cost savings to be passed on to you.
Project Coordination
Daneswood Concepts follows the project to its end. We coordinate the work of Architects and Structural Engineers, organise the selection of the most appropriate and cost effective Builder and ensure a smooth running of the project. When the dust has settled, we can also introduce you to Interior Designers who can help you with the finishing touches. At all stages throughout the project, Daneswood Concepts will be there to answer questions and resolve problems that might arise.
Throughout each phase, Daneswood Concepts is your one point of contact.
What if?
You have an Architect that you know and wish to work with?
No problem, we will happily work with him/her and help you with the brief. It is important that you know exactly what you need and want before you involve them. We also find it useful to be involved in the conversations with Architects, as we are detail oriented and our input is often valued.
You have a Builder that you want to use?
The same. We will work with him/her all along, as there are many moments in a building project where decisions need to be made about all sorts of unexpected finds and surprises.
You don’t really want us involved in either the Architect’s or the Builder’s work?
Fine. We’ll just work with you on the concepts and let you/them do the rest.
